When using UNICODE such as UTF8BIN in the collation of an SAP IQ database, multiple full-width minus characters may be stored.
For example, "ー(full-width minus)" has different character codes in IBM-Unicode and MS-Unicode.
In this case, searching for MS-Unicode characters with the IBM-Unicode character code will not result in any hits.
| Character | IBM Unicode | MS Unicode |
| ー(full-width minus) | E28892 | EFBC8D |
| ―(full-width dash) | E28094 | E28095 |
