3392995 - Depreciation value is unexpected after change the useful life in Manage Fixed Assets app - SAP S/4HANA Cloud

After the useful life was changed, the depreciation value of the previous periods was adjusted unexpectedly.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud

1. Open the Manage Fixed Assets app.

2. Select the fixed asset that needs to be changed.

3. Click the "Edit" button.

4. Modify the useful life.

5. Click the "Save" and "Recalculate" buttons.

6. The depreciation value of the previous periods has been adjusted unexpectedly.

This is system standard behavior.

1. Open the Manage Fixed Assets app.

2. Select the fixed asset that needs to be changed.

3. Click the "Edit" button.

4. Navigate to Valuation 0L/2L/3L-->General Parameters--> Add an Interval.

5. Choose the appropriate Valid date.

6. Change the useful life to the expected value. 

7. Click "Simulate Changes" or click the "Save" and "Recalculate" buttons directly.

8. The depreciation value will be recalculated from the new valid date interval.
