3393168 - Identifying the Legislative Regions of the United Kingdom

UK policies continue to be devolved and the four nations are increasingly gaining greater legislative control. SAP have delivered feature GBLEG to allow customers to configure their own rules to identify each legislative region.

The requirement to treat individual countries differently first arose when the COVID 19 SSP waiting day rules were ended from a different date for Northern Ireland than for the rest of the United Kingdom.

This feature will also be used when identifying the legislative region during the Investment Zone National Insurance processing being delivered for tax year 2024/25. SAP are waiting for HMRC to release details of the Investments Zones for Northern Ireland but there is a potential for there to be different rules to the rest of the UK.

SAP anticipate that this feature be required more in the future as the devolution of power continues.
