3393383 - Removed user from Operator field adds back after saving requisition form - Recruiting Management

Symptom

In job requisition, operator fields have been filled out previously. Now, I removed the users by selecting the name and then deleting the value. After saving the requisition, I checked that the removed users have been added again.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Reproducing the Issue

1. In job requisition, select the name of the user added in an operator field. Then delete the name by using delete/backspace key.

Required Operator Field:

Non-Required Operator Field:

2. Use any method to save the form:

  • Save icon in the top-right toolbar
  • "Save and Close" button at the bottom of the page
  • Button to send the requisition to next approver or complete the approval process

3. The requisition is saved or sent to next approver or approval is completed. For required operator fields, notice that system did not give any error message that a required operator field is not completed.

4. Go back to the requisition and notice that the user you removed is added back to the operator field.

Cause

This behavior is by system design. The system will add back the removed user from operator field(s) if the method is selecting/highlighting the user and then deleting the value. This behavior applies to both required and non-required operator fields.

Resolution

Based on implementation guide, below are the methods to follow when removing user from operator fields:

  • For non-required operator field: Must use the Clear button beside the field when removing a user
  • For required operator field: Required operator fields cannot be left empty. To remove a user from the field you have to select a replacement user.

Note: For the scenario when a required operator field is to be completed for the first time (it is never assigned to a user) and you left it empty, once you save the requisition you will get the error message asking you to complete/assign the operator field. The behavior explained above in this article only happens when the operator field have been assigned to a user previously.
