3393608 - "Code page passed does not match byte order mark" error occurs when uploading file with GUI_UPLOAD

Symptom

Issue occurs when uploading file to SAP system with function module GUI_UPLOAD. 

  • The error "Cannot open the specified file, please check and try again" or some other error has been displayed. 
  • When testing in function module GUI_UPLOAD directly from transaction code SE37, the following error occurs:
