Symptom

You want to restrict Goods Receipt to not receive more than the ordered quantity.

Reproducing the Issue

Cause

  • The system will always allow you to receive quantity more than the ordered quantity.
  • The reason why system allows you to do this is to ensure flexibility in supply chain.
  • As one example there could be cases that the Supplier overdelivered and in such scenarios you will be able to create a return of the product only after receiving it. 

Resolution

You will not be able to restrict the goods receipt when delivery quantity is more than ordered quantity.  The system will give you a warning message when the received quantity is more than the ordered quantity.
