The 2H 2023 release introduced support for custom tasks in the onboarding and offboarding process. With this enhancement, field values captured within these custom tasks can be mapped to Signature Forms that are presented to candidates during the Document Flow step.

1. This mapping is configured through direct mapping within the Maintain Onboarding or Offboarding Document Template.

For example, a custom object named “Onboarding Feedback Custom Task” has been created to generate the custom task. This custom object also contains the fields that are displayed within the custom task.

2. In the referenced custom MDF object, three fields have been created (highlighted): Interview Date, Question 1 (label: How was the Interview Process), and Interviewer Name.

3. To map these fields within the Document Template, direct mapping must be configured in Maintain Onboarding or Offboarding Document Template. The base object used for this mapping should be the same custom object that is responsible for creating the custom task, including the fields associated with it.

NOTE: 

1. When mapping custom task fields within the document template, it is important to ensure that the custom task is completed before the document is generated and the e-signature activity is assigned to the candidate.
2. If the custom task is not completed, the document assigned to the candidate for e-signature will contain blank values.
3. Once the document has been generated and the e-signature step has been assigned, restarting the onboarding process becomes necessary. After the restart, the custom task must be completed prior to assigning the e-signature activity to ensure that the field values are correctly reflected in the generated document.
