3394404 - Missing Event Reason Permission Prevents Data Visibility in Report Story

Symptom

  • Users have permission to view Event Reason in People Profile but cannot see values for this column in Report Story.
  • This issue occurs despite having the necessary permissions in People Profile.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a Story Report
  2. Add Job information table on data source and select Event Reason Column
  3. No data displays in Event Reason column

Cause

User has missing permission Event Reason object

Resolution

PLEASE NOTE: Permission setting for “event reason” is ignored in the employee profile UI but honoured in reporting (and other places as e.g. integration). Therefore, it could be possible that a missing permission for “event reason” could lead to different behaviours in employee profile UI and other applications like reporting. 

Make sure to grant user with this Permission:
Manage Foundation Objects Types > Event Reason (View)
