Symptom
When the user tries to generate a report for the Sales Order Documents, they observe the template name is incorrectly displayed.
Environment
- SAP Business ByDesign
- SAP Cloud For Customer
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Sales Order Workcenter
- Go to List view
- Select 'Document Output History (To be deprecated)'
- In the Selection tab, enter the Recipients: ABC (Where ABC refers to Customer Account Number)
Now observe, the template name in the report is displayed incorrectly. (For eg: Sales Order Acknowledgement Sales Order Confirmation XYZ)
Cause
If the document name is not maintained in form template maintenance, it will concatenate template description along with the Form Template Name which is saved in the database at order release time.
Resolution
This is the Standard system behavior. The user should either maintain the document name or remove the description or remove both (Document Name, Template Description) in the Form Template Maintenance.
Please follow the below steps:
- Go to Application and User Management workcenter
- Go to Form Template Maintenance view
- Search for Sales Order Acknowledgement Template
- Select the Record
- Select Actions
- Select Maintain Document Name and either Maintain or Remove the name
The description of the template can be removed by following the below steps:
- Go to Application and User Management workcenter
- Go to Form Template Maintenance view
- Search for Sales Order Acknowledgement Template
- Select the Record
- Select Copy and Choose As New Template from the dropdown
- Remove the Template Description
- Save and Publish the template
