3394976 - Can't Reverse a VAT Return - UK

 Can't reverse the VAT Return for United Kingdom companies. The reverse button is greyed out.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Tax Management Work Center > VAT Return view
2. Search for the desired VAT Return ID
3. It is not possible to reverse the VAT Return. The Reverse button is greyed out

The issue usually occurs when both the old UK VAT return xml file and UK MTD are active at the same time in the system.

Refer to this documentation to check if the Making Tax Digital - UK is active in your system.

To deactivate the old UK VAT return xml file, refer to the below steps:

1. Go to Tax Management Work Center > Company Tax Arrangements view
2. Search for your Company ID and Tax Authority ID
3. Click on Tax Authority link
4. Click View All
5. Go to Company Tax Arrangements tab
6. Select the desired Company
7. Go to Tax Return Arrangements sub-tab
   
8. Select the desired Tax Return Arrangement ID
9. Deactivate the parameter "Electronic Submission"
10. It should enable the Reverse button in the VAT Return
