3395085 - Global bookmark state hangs, if the bookmark state is based on linked variables selection in the Optimized Design Experience (ODE) story mode in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

  • Global bookmark state hangs, if the bookmark state is based on linked variables selection in the Optimized Design Experience (ODE) story mode in SAC.
  • Issue has two steps:
    1. Not possible to switch between bookmark states, if the bookmark state is based on linked variables selection in the Optimized Design Experience (ODE)/Unified Story mode. Story will keep the default bookmark state.
    2. After the bookmark selection, if the story will be re-opened in the same browser session, the before used linked variable, which is added to the story filter toolbar, will hang and keep loading in.
  • In this issue, the story is based on direct live connection to SAP BW/4HANA.

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2023.16.14

Reproducing the Issue

    1. Login to SAC.
    2. Create a story based on two live models which are based on direct live connection to SAP BW or SAP BW/4HANA.
    3. Link the one of the variables as per help guide: Linking Story Variables
    4. Add the linked variable to the story filter toolbar.
    5. Go to story filter based on the linked variable and change its member/value.
    6. Wait until the data will be loaded to the story.
    7. Now go to Bookmarks - Bookmark Current State - add a name and select Public - Save.
    8. Now re-open the story in View mode.
    9. Go to Bookmarks - Open Saved Bookmarks - Global Bookmarks and select the saved bookmark => story will be refreshed, but the default bookmark selection will be still valid, and data will be loaded according to that.
    10. Now close and re-open the story with the same browser session.
    11. Go to story filter based on the linked variable and try to open the member list or change member/value => story will keep loading.
