Symptom

  • Decimals are removed when importing data from SQL Databases to SAC

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise)

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open model and go to Data Management.
  2. Create a import job against SQL Database
  3. Create a query with the items which contains decimals.
  4. Confirm the data will contain decimal in query preview.
  5. Run the job and click on 'Set Up Import'
  6. Check the decimal in Preview Data section, the decimals are all removed.

Cause

You didn't set Scale for the related column in DB level

Resolution

Set the target column with proper Scale in DB. Eg: for Oracle, the target column should be set like NUMBER(15,10) while it will not work if you only set the column as NUMBER type.
