3395799 - Closing Balance Result Is Not Zero In Trial Balance Report

You notice that the closing balance result is not zero in trial balance report after finishing balance carryforward, and you wonder why.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to General Ledger work center.
2. Go to Reports view.
3. Search and select trial balance report.
4. Enter required information such as company, set of books, accounting period, and G/L account type.
5. You notice that the closing balance is not zero.

When you fetch the trial balance report, for all accounting periods in a year it shows the trial balance for G/L accounts for one year.

The closing balance in the trial balance report shows the amount to be carried forward.

If you navigate to G/L account line-item report, you can see if you include journal entry type: balance carryforward, the result is 0.

It is the expected system behavior.
