If the Multiple Branches function is not enabled, when a Journal Entry (JE) is automatically posted behind a document or you create it manually, it is posted according to the Default Series set for Journal Entries under Administration → System Initialization → Document Numbering.
Also, there is no validation if the period indicator of the series corresponds with the period indicator of the current period.
