3396270 - 2H 2023 - Mashup opens in new link although 'Open Link in New Tab' is set to 'NO'

In Payroll System Configuration, you have set 'Open Link in New Tab' to 'NO'. In employee's profile when opening this mashup, a new tab opens.

• EC system has release H2 2023
• In employee's profile, you open the URL for an application, such as mashup, and a new tab is created. 

This behavior takes place after the new release H2 2023. The configuration setting is not correctly reflected in certain circumstances and we are investigating a solution to ensure that the 'NO' check is taken into account. 

Meanwhile, the following behavior will take place in the system: 

All links belonging to a different domain would open in a new window, whereas all links belonging to the same domain would open within the same window. For example, links opening a new domain outside EC/ECP systems will open a new tab.  Also, if EC and ECP have different Data Centers, this will be considered different domain and a new tab will open. 

System's behavior as per different scenarios:

• Same Domain with 'Open Link in New Tab' configured:  Would Open in a new tab.
• Same Domain without 'Open Link in New Tab' configured: Would Open within the same tab/Iframe.
• Different Domain with 'Open Link in New Tab' configured: Would Open in a New Tab.
• Different Domain without 'Open Link in New Tab' configured: Would Open in a New Tab.

This issue happens to links with type set in Payroll System Configuration as Infotype or URL. In the case of Service, the new tab opening will take place if the mashup opens something other than a PDF. For example, Pay Statement will be open in the same tab as the service opens a PDF.  

Note: The mashups opening in a new tab will not present a header/title. This is expected as only the content of the Iframe is transferred to the new window and this is same as what will open if we open the HR Renewal Screen of the infotype directly from ECP system which does not contain a header. 

Our Engineering team has planned a fix for this in P7 (7^th Dec in Production).

This is related to the future deprecation of third-party cookies.
