3396419 - An error has occured while launching the Information Design Tool (IDT)

Symptom

  • Information Design Tool (IDT) fails to start, the following error is seen on Launching IDT:

         "An error has occurred. See the log file
           C:\Users\< User Name>\.businessobjects\bimodeler_14\workspace\.metadata\.log"

         

      
  • In the .log file, we can observe the below errors:
       
         "at org.eclipse.core.runtime.internal.adaptor.EclipseAppLauncher.start(EclipseAppLauncher.java:79)
          at org.eclipse.core.runtime.adaptor.EclipseStarter.run(EclipseStarter.java:386)
          at org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.Main.invokeFramework(Main.java:549)"
