3397267 - How to Increase The Size of an Extended Text Extension Field

The Extension Field with the field type Extended Text cannot be resized directly, the text field size appears fixed and cannot be manually adjusted.

Below is an example, this applies to all extension fields of type Extended Text in any screen.

1. Go to the Sales Orders work center.
2. Go to the Sales Orders view.
3. Open an existing sales order or create a new one.
4. Navigate to the General tab.
5. Select the User icon and choose Key User Settings.
6. Select Start Adaptation Mode.
7. Either:
   • Create a new extension field with the field type Extended Text, or
   • Select an existing extension field whose field type is Extended Text.
8. Observe that the text field cannot be resized manually.

This is the expected system behavior.

To increase the size of an extension field with field type "Extended Text":

1. Start the Adaptation Mode.
2. Right-click either at the Extension Field on the UI or at the corresponding UI Element in the Adaptation Panel.
3. In the dialog that opens, the size is configured as "Input field with only 1 row" by default.
4. Change the Number of Rows as required (available from 1 to 10 rows).
5. Save and publish the adaptation.

The Extension field will then be displayed with the configured number of rows.
