After migrating to Learning Identity Authentication, what is the password flow?
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Learning
Resolution
Frequently asked questions:
- What is the password flow post migration for existing Users vs newly created Users?
- Already existing Users will be prompted to change their password on logging in. New Users will have a mail triggered from IAS when they are created. More info here: First Time Login Experience for Migrated Native and External Users | SAP Help Portal
- When a native account is created via self site registration the user is choosing a one time password, is this the password which is then verified when the user is logging into the Site after IAS Migration?
-
- Yes - if the password complies with the policy configured in IAS. More info here: First Time Login Experience for Migrated Native and External Users | SAP Help Portal
- Is there a difference for the validity check when the user password was created via self registration versus the Learning User password for a native account was reset via Learning Administration by an LMS Administrator?
-
- In native passwords, it depends what rules are set in LMS Admin under System Configuration > Password policy. These rules can be set to apply to only users, only admins, or both. Under IAS, password changes must happen in the IAS. Changes in Learning to password values are ignored. More info on the same link above, and here is the IAS password policy documentation: Configuring Password Policies | SAP Help Portal
