3399064 - After filtering on child node table displays all parent nodes of the child

You are building a Story in SAP Analytics Cloud with several widgets, some or all of which have dimensions with active hierarchies, and have either of following conditions:

• you apply story filter on a child hierarchy node
  
  
• you activate linked analysis and filter one of the widgets on child hierarchy node

• SAP NetWeaver 7.52
• SAP NetWeaver 7.53
• SAP NetWeaver 7.54
• SAP NetWeaver 7.55
• SAP NetWeaver 7.56 
• SAP NetWeaver 7.57
• SAP BW/4HANA 2.0 SP4 and higher
• SAP BW/4HANA 3.0

1) Create a Story based on the Live Data Model

2) Create a table with dimension which has active hierarchy

3) Create another table with another dimension which has active hierarchy

4) Apply Story filter on a hierarchy child node of either dimension

OR

4) Activate linked analysis for both tables and filter one of the tables on a hierarchy child node of its dimension

The special parameter ConvertToFlatSelection = true is sent to BW from SAC when setting a hierarchy node filter.

This helps to resolve the hierarchy node selection to dimension member selections and allows cross widget filtering, which also will send a filter to widgets with different active hierarchies or widgets with no hierarchy.

The resolved dimension members are then filled back into the hierarchy tree. As a result the hierarchy tree above the selected leaves is also returned by BW.

This is designed behavior of SAP Analytics Cloud with Story Filters and/or Linked Analysis.
