3399388 - Error: There is already an object named 'OTSAPACT*' in the database after OpenText ECM upgrade 22.x version

Symptom

Post-upgrade errors related to 'OTSAPACT*' tables presence in the database have been reported after upgrading to version 22.2 of SAP Extended Enterprise Content Management by OpenText. Notable errors include:

  • There is already an object named 'OTSAPACT*' in the database
  • Error executing an SQL statement
  • Error installing component's database schema; install failed
  • The Module Upgrade Failed Due To Errors

These issues are evident in the dbupgrade.log file, given that thread and connect logging are set to INFO level.

The error only occurs, if the SAP Activator was installed before the upgrade while Extended ECM for SAP was not. The 22.2 upgrade, which contains the SAP Activator, tries reinstalling the schema, leading to the errors.
