3400027 - Changes in query level are not shown when refreshing existing workbooks

Symptom

Some changes in query level are not shown when refreshing an existing workbook in Analysis Office.

The changes are only reflected after resetting the data source in the existing workbook.

Environment

SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office

Resolution

This is not a bug in the tool but the expected behavior. Otherwise, a change in the query level would unexpectedly change all existing workbooks using the specific query.

For more information, refer to chapter Inserting data sources in a workbook which explicitly mention that it is not recommended changing the definition of a query in the backend system after it has been inserted in an Analysis Office workbook, and the reasons behind this recommendation.
