3400851 - Sales Cloud App Is Considering The Language Of The Device Instead Of Tenant Settings

Symptom

You noticed that when you change the language of the device, the Sales Cloud App logon language is also changing, even if it is not configured in the system.

Environment

Sales Cloud Version 2

Reproducing the Issue

Example:

  1. Have your device language set as English.
  2. Logon to the Sales Cloud App. You will see English Language.
  3. Close the app and change the device language to French.
  4. Re-logon to the app. The sales cloud is now showing in French.

Cause

Sales Cloud apps consider device language as the default language for login. This is basically to honor locale settings based on the language on the device. If the language is allowed to change then all the locale settings( region, calendar, date and number formats) will be still in default device supported settings. It will be confusing to the user.

In general, tenants and devices are setup to operate in the same language.

Resolution

This is expected behavior.

If there is BYOD support, then you may be able to enforce language using the MDM that is used to manage the devices.
