3402251 - New Candidate Workbench prompts for a Required status when moving candidates across the pipeline - Recruiting Management

This article describes the issue with the new candidate workbench wherein users will get an error when moving candidates to another status because a required status cannot be skipped.

a. Users cannot move external candidates to another status because a required status for internal candidates cannot be skipped. 

a. Users cannot move internal candidates to another status because a required status for external candidates cannot be skipped.

When moving any candidate from one status to another, you will get an error similar to the screenshot below. Error: <statusname> step can't be skipped. 

Here you will see that the system is prompting the user to move this internal candidate to the Shortlist status, by saying the 'Shortlist status cannot be skipped.' However, the Shortlist status will not be available on the dropdown since it is not enabled for Internal candidates, as seen in the Edit Applicant Status Config.

New Candidate Workbench cannot distinguish the Required settings in the Edit Applicant status Config that is only either for internal or external candidates.

The cause of the issue has been found and a fix is ready. It will be deployed Nov-27th for preview environment and Nov30th for production environment.

Workaround: On the upper right side of the candidate workbench, there is an option to switch back to the legacy workbench. The legacy workbench has the correct behavior and you will have no issues moving the candidates across the pipeline.  

For my example above, when switching to Legacy, the error prompt is not seen, and the internal candidate can be moved passed the Short List status. 

Note: This behaviour was observed even in b2305 version of the new candidate workbench.
