Users encounter the error below when navigating from Customer BP to its contact person BP via t-code BP redirecting from t-code XD03 in S/4. 

Business partner && does not exist in role CVI: Customer.

Message no. BUPA_DIALOG_JOEL400.

But the contact person BP doesn't have to own any customer role in fact.
