3403445 - Number formatting is incorrect when changing language

Symptom

When the language is changed the number format does not changes correctly for some languages, decimal point appears rather than a comma or vice-versa.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Reproducing the Issue

Scenario 1

  1. Switch language to Netherland(Dutch) or Deutsch ‎(German)
  2. Go to user's employee profile
  3. Biographical Information -> Edit
  4. Set custom-long1 = 1.234
  5. Set custom-double1 = 1.234,567
  6. Save
  7. Check in portlet and see custom-long1 has value as 1, and custom-double1 has value as 1,234

Scenario 2

  1. If the issue is not replicated in scenario 1, change the language back to English (US)
  2. Go to same user's pfile and edit Biographical Info
  3. Change other fields and save
  4. see custom-long1 has value as 1, and custom-double1 has value as 1.234

Resolution

Engineering team have confirmed that the issue will be fixed via patch PTCH-42624 in 2311p6 on 27 Nov in Preview instances and 30 Nov in Production instances.
