SF supports configure MDF attachment field for Document Categories, regarding how to configure it, kindly refer to below Help Guide:
Configuring Attachment Fields for Document Categories
IMPORTANT NOTES about the correct behaivor of this configuration:
- Custom Document Categories created and associated to attachment fields are only applied to documents uploaded AFTER this configuration is completed.
- When the Attachment Field Configuration was updated or created, all the existing attachments will NOT be moved to the new document category.
