3403857 - Sapcontrol AccessCheck function failed with "errorNo -8"

Symptom

  • Sapcontrol command failed with error message like below,

error at AccessCheck: FAIL: NIECONN_REFUSED (Connection timed out),

NiRawConnect failed in plugin_fopen()

  • More detailed information be captured when testing the same sapcontrol command with -debug option 

Sample,

 sapcontrol  -nr 55 -function AccessCheck Start -debug

......
 NiPGetServInfoError: func NiPGetServByName; sys getaddrinfo; log 0; isErr 1; errorNo -8
 NiSrvLGetServNo: service name 'sapctrl55' not found by operating system

Comments, 55 is just the affected instance number in above sample case, it could be any 2 digits number based on customer system configuration.
