3404386 - Workflow is not triggered when an employee is terminated - 2H 2023

Symptom

When we try to terminate the employee, workflow is not triggered.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Termination

Reproducing the Issue

Prerequisite- Configure two rules one in Job Information which check for termination reason and has approvers added to the workflow used in the rule and other rule in Employment details which check for termination reason and has no approvers only CC role is added to the workflow used in this rule.

  1. Navigate to employee profile of the user.
  2. Click on Take Action > Terminate.
  3. Fill all the mandatory fields.
  4. Click ‘Save’ on the termination window.
  5. Workflow did not trigger and saved the record automatically.

Resolution

Engineering team confirmed that this is an expected behavior where rule added in Employment Details will take precedence over Business rule created in Job Information for workflow.
