3404921 - Onchange rules does not trigger when you are adding a peer position/lower-level position from Position org chart

When you are adding a peer position/lower-level position from Position org chart, rule to copy-relevant position fields under UI customizing(Position management settings) triggers and sets the field values based on rule configuration.But, onchange rules does not trigger which is configured against those set fields.

PS: This rule(rule to copy-relevant position fields) only works for "Add Peer Position" and "Add Lower-Level Position" Functions.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Position Management

Prerequisite:

Do ensure a rule is assigned in the below path:

• Position Management Settings -> UI Customizing -> Rule for Defining Copy-Relevant Position Fields

Steps to follow:

1. Navigate to Position Org Chart and search for a position.
2. Click on the Position -> Actions -> Select the option of either Add Lower-Level Position or Add Peer Position.
3. Fields from the original position is copying in the new position due to rule assigned under Rule for Defining Copy-Relevant Position Fields.
4. Result: Onchange rules configured in the position object fields which is getting set from the above step is not triggered.

Currently, this is an Expected behavior which is confirmed by Engineering team and guide will be updated with same information shortly.

PS: This feature (Rule for Defining Copy-Relevant Position Fields) is to only copy relevant position fields data from source position and is not considered as a change to trigger the onchange rules.

Workaround:

Please reselect the value of the affected field and it will trigger the onchange rule.
