3405039 - Sales Order Cannot Be Released If It Has a Blank Line Item

You are able to save a Sales Order with blank line item but unable to release it and receive an error message.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Sales Order work center.
2. View: Sales Orders.
3. Create new sales order.
4. Navigate to Items tab.
5. Add Row but don't add any Product in line item.
6. Click on Save and sales order gets saved and status is In Preparation.
7. Release Order button is greyed out and there is an error message "Item XX: Product for item is missing".

It is not possible to release a sales order if you have added row in Items tab but no product is maintained in line item.

This is system standard behavior. If you don't want to add any product in the particular sales order then remove that particular line item and release the order or update the line item with product information and try releasing the sales order.
