3405338 - Unreadable address print in Flexible Real Estate Management Correspondence (Invoice and General Letter) - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

When printing the Real Estate correspondence Invoice or General Letter, the address in the address block, either recipient or sender, is unreadable due to overlaying / shadowing text printed.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

The overlaid address print is caused by duplicated print of addresses on the letter. Technically they are linked by the form’s data interface address fields to two different form elements in the form hierarchy, not exactly at the same position. The two form elements point to the Real Estate content of the form and in addition to the underlying master form template.

While the doubled binding is intended, because customers shall be enabled to make use of one of the address fields (either Real Estate content or master form) on their choice, it should not result in unreadable printing.

If this occurs, the addresses do not 100% match, either because they are lay outed by Real Estate content and master template at different page positions, use different font sizes or similar.

Resolution

There are different approaches to resolve this issue:

  • In case you want to make use of the standard Real Estate form (RE_CN_INVCOICE_DE) or one of its localization variants, make sure to also configure a compatible master form template via the configuration activity Define Rules for Determination of Master Form Template (SSCUI 101184). Examples for compatible master forms are “SOMU_FORM_MASTER_LETTER”, “SOMU_FORM_MASTER_A4” and its localized variants. With all master form templates starting with “APOC_DEMO_FORM_MASTER” it depends on the localization variant and the result must be checked. As pointed out here, such master templates shall not be used for productive use anyway.
  • In case you are planning to plan designing your own Real Estate form, master form template via Extensibility Cockpit Fiori application, you will be going to design the layout on your demand and will be able to adjust the address mapping accordingly during this step.
  • In case the issue is about an overlaid print caused by the sender address, it is most likely caused by doubled address binding on one side in the company details, retrieved via the Real Estate form data interface, and the custom text configuration for print forms via the Manage Texts Fiori application. You may want to check if one the address data could be removed, most likely in texts, because the other is exported from your company master data maintenance.
