3405667 - Unexpected Exchange Rate Determination for Customer Invoice in Journal Entry

Symptom

You are expecting exchange rate to be validated as of Invoice Date but Posting Date is taken into consideration or vice versa.

Reproducing the Issue

In this case we are expecting exchange rate to be determined with respect to Invoice Date maintained in document:

  1. Go to the General Ledger Work Center.
  2. Go to the Journal Entries Sub View.
  3. Find the relevant Journal Entry and open it.
  4. Go to the Journal Entry tab.

You're expecting the exchange rate with respect to Invoice Date but exchange rate valid as of Posting date is fetched.

Cause

The Exchange Rate depends on the Conversion Type, Conversion Date (for example, '2 - Posting Date') and Exchange Rate Type you have maintained in Business Configuration.

Resolution

If you would like to change the exchange rate conversion date to Invoice Date from Posting Date. Please make the below changes:

  1. Go to the Business Configuration Work Center.
  2. Go to the Overview View.
  3. Search and open the activity Currency Conversion Profiles.
  4. Choose the desired Currency Conversion Profile and Business Transaction type as Customer Invoice.
  5. Change the Conversion Date to '1 - Document Date' and save it.
