3406649 - Live connection to HANA on premise system in SAP Analytics Cloud(SAC) cannot persist technical user credentials

• A live direct connection to on-premises HANA system has been created with a HANA Database technical user.
• However the technical user's credentials are not being recorded in the connection, and whenever a user accesses the story, there will be popup to request user credentials.
• How can we use this connection with a fixed technical user? As an example, when connecting to HANA Cloud system with live connection, the credentials are saved in the connection and the scenario using a technical user is perfectly met.

SAP Analytics Cloud(SAC) 2023.21.8

1. Create a live direct connection to HANA on premise system, using a HANA technical user's credentials.
2. Create a live data model based on the connection.
3. See the popup to input user name and password. But for the live connection to HANA Cloud system, this is not needed. 

• This is a by-design behavior.
• When creating live connection to HANA cloud system, the technical user's credentials will be saved along with the connection details.
• But live direct connection to HANA on premise is not designed in this way. User credentials won't be restored in connections. And manually input is necessary when using the connection.

• This is a by-design behavior. It is necessary to provide a HANA database user manually whenever the connection is used.
