3408513 - Error “Cannot allocate memory” happens when combine data in SAP Analytics Cloud(SAC) Model

Symptom

  • In SAC data wrangling process, fail to combine data with error message: Cannot allocate enough memory, please check traces for further information.
  • The queries are based on import S/4HANA (on-prem) data.
  • The issue happens intermittently. Sometimes, when trying to remove the selected columns to combine, then select them again, the issue will disappear.

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) 2023.21.8

Reproducing the Issue

  1.  Login SAC tenant.
  2.  Create a new model with query A.
  3.  Combine data with another query B with combine settings:
    - select column in A: dimension_1; dimension_2
    - select column in B: dimension_1; dimension_2
    - All primary data
  4. See error: Cannot allocate enough memory, please check traces for further information; and same error message in har file.
  5. If change to 'intersecting data only' , the combination also cannot work. Sometimes, we remove the selected columns then select them again, it can work. But for the first try of combination, it always cannot work.
