3408925 - SAC- Clarification on the standard behavior of the styling in the Data Analyzer Report

Symptom

  • When creating a new report in the data analyzer with the account dimension in the row, the settings related to the styling (scale, decimal places…) are working fine: it is possible to change the scale and the decimal places as per the need (in the styling panel) only when the account dimension exists.
  • Once  account dimension  removed from the view of the table, these settings are not working anymore.

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a new report from the data analyzer tab, starting from an existing model
  2. From the styling, change the scale from “Default” to “Million” and leave the account dimension expanded in row (builder panel).
  3. The Scale is correctly reported in the table
  4. Then, remove the account dimension from the row
  5. Change the scale from “Million” to “Thousand” from the styling panel
  6. The table is not impacted by the scale setting and takes automatically the “Default” one (The same behavior is valid also for the “Decimal Places” ).

Cause

This is a standard behavior of the styling in the Data Analyzer Report, the styling is applied to measure a value and when the accounts dimension is removed from the rows the system doesn't know to which measure the format should be applied that's why the settings related to the styling (scale, decimal places…) are not working anymore.

Resolution

This is the standard behavior of data analyzer
