3408940 - Paste Table From Excel In C4C Does Not Keep Formatting

Symptom

You notice that the formatting such as Font and Color is being lost when you copy and paste a Table from Excel to C4C.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

Pre-Requisite: You have copied a table from Excel with formatting (Such as Color inside the table) which needs to be pasted in C4C Outbound E-mail.

  1. Go to Service Work Center
  2. Go to Tickets view
  3. Open any Ticket
  4. Go to Interactions facet
  5. Create a new E-mail and paste the copied content on the E-mail editor.

You notice that the formatting changes (Font , Table Color) in the pasted content in C4C.

Cause

This is default kendo editor behavior.

When you copy an excel content into this editor, it does not apply any specific handling and the font is switched 'Default font'. This is the expected behavior of Kendo Editor.

Resolution

You can switch to 'TinyMCE' editor where we have little more control and this works fine.

TinyMCE also provides a little more control and better performance compare to Kendo editor and we recommend the customer to switch to this for Email editor.

Steps:

  1. Go to Administrator Work Center
  2. Go to Service and Social View
  3. Go to Ticket Configuration
  4. Enable the option "Enable TinyMCE Editor"
  5. Click on Save

Now when you paste the table content in C4C, you will get a pop up message saying "Paste Formatting Options" => "Remove Formatting" or "Keep Formatting".
You can click on "Keep Formatting" and the formatting will be copied the same as in the excel.
