3408986 - Edit Fiscal Years for Sets Of Books and Assigned Companies Not Possible

Symptom

You are not able to edit fiscal years for set of books ABC (ABC represents the set of books ID) and assignment of company XYZ (XYZ represents the company ID).

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to General Ledger work center.
  2. Go to Set of Books and Assigned Companies view.
  3. Click 'Edit Fiscal Years' for set of books ABC and assignment of company XYZ , and the system shows errors:
    'No valid combination of company and set of books found;
    Company is required;
    Save failed.'
  4. You also notice that the deactivate button is greyed out. This indicates that the company assignment has been deactivated.

Cause

It is not possible to edit fiscal years for the already deactivated company and set of books assignment. And it is not possible to reactivate the company and set of books assignment again.

Resolution

Under no circumstances will it be possible to reactivate an inactive set of books.

The only possibilities here are to either roll back the system to a restore point when set of books ABC is still active, or to set up a completely new company and migrate/transfer all existing data over to the new company.
