3411593 - Offboarding task is not triggering for terminated users - Onboarding

Symptom

Offboardees are getting properly Terminated in Employee Central, however Offboarding tasks are not getting triggered, consequently Offboarding Dashboard is also not appearing.

  • Checked relevant rules like Event Reason and Offboarding trigger, they are both correct and Event Reason used to terminate the Offboardee is configured there.
  • Checked relevant permissions, they are granted for the affected users.

It's recommended to review them as the following post: Offboarding 2.0 | SAP Blogs

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

Cause

Offboarding Workflow is not present in Manage Process Definition as process flow was not updated.

Resolution

Access Manage Process Definition and select "Onboarding/Intelligent Services". How it's expected to appear:

If there is no Offboarding Workflow, then it's necessary to update the process flow:

  1. Access "Update Process Flow for Onboarding and Offboarding".
  2. Select "Onboarding and Offboarding"
  3. Before updating the selected user, ensure this user is active in system, otherwise please use an active one.
  4. Click on "Update".

Note! For future new terminations, Offboarding will properly work, for employees already terminated and affected by this issue, it's necessary to retrigger their Offboarding:

"Delete the Event Type "Terminated" from user's Employee Profile on Job Information section and perform his/her Offboarding again." (3387719 - Candidate is not visible on Offboarding Dashboard after cancelation - Onboarding - SAP for Me )
