When trying to migrate a classic account model to new model type, the following warning message is shown:

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open a classic account model.
  2. Click Edit->Migrate to New Model Type, then will see the warning message: Migrate Classic Account Model to New Model Type could affect dependent objects. This action cannot be undone. Learn More 

Resolution

This is a simple warning message which indicates the Migration could affect dependent objects, for detailed information please follow the help guide which could be accessed by the hyperlink Learn More:

Currently, you will see that the "affect dependent objects" in the warning message means "The migration is not possible if your classic account model has dependent objects or if the currency conversion is turned on" in the help guide.

Now, if this model is referenced in any story,  analytic application, data action or data Analyzer, you will get the following error message when you trying to migrate to new model type:

Migration is currently not possible, due to the following reasons:

  • The model is already used.
