3412365 - MS Access imported/linked table displays datetime value as ShortText - SDK for SAP ASE

Symptom

  • In Microsoft Access, you import from or link to a table which resides on ASE 16.0 SP04 PL04.
  • If the table has a datetime column, the imported or linked table shows the value of datetime column as ShortText.
    • The values of the columns may include a millisecond value on the imported table.
    • If a composite index key of the table includes datetime column, "ODBC--call failed." message appears when trying to display the contents of the linked table.
  • This behavior is seen if you are using an older SDK than SDK 16.0 SP03 PL14 or 16.0 SP04 PL04.
