3412499 - System Crashes While Finishing Physical Inventory Count Task

Symptom

- System crashes while confirming the physical inventory task in the Physical Inventory work center.
- This issue occurs when trying to confirm a task with a large number of line items.

Environment

- SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

1. Go to the Physical Inventory work center.
2. Navigate to the Task Control view.
3. Search and select the relevant task you want to confirm.
4. Click on the Confirm button.
5. Enter the necessary quantities and click on the Finish All Items button.

Cause

The system crash occurs when trying to confirm a task that has a large number of line items, typically greater than 500. This large number is not supported in Business ByDesign, causing memory issues while finishing the task.

Resolution

  • Ensure that the tasks created do not have more than 500 line items per task.
  • Try to confirm the existing task using the Confirm with Microsoft Excel option. This option has been successful in some cases where there are not too many value updates required in the task.
