3413252 - Dump After Create a Custom Field of Object Data Type in OWLs

Symptom

You have a requirement to create a KUT field of type: Object Data Type in the OWL view.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the Adaptation Mode in any OWL view.
  2. Add the field in any level: List columns, advanced search list and basic search.
  3. Dump.

Cause

There is a limitation that this type of field cannot be used in this view. This is the expected system behavior.

Resolution

Please follow the steps to remove the dump:

  1. Go to Administrator > General Settings > Layout Change History.
  2. Find the CT generated by the operation.
  3. Delete the CT to remove the dump.

Also, an alternative option may be to check the SAP Customer Influencer Site to submit an idea: SAP Influence Channel. There SAP Product Managers team will evaluate the requirement and, if possible, it shall be deployed with a future release.
