Symptom
- Lately, it has been noticed that in certain environments, Tomcat server seems crashes every few days like 1-2 weeks.
- In these cases, Tomcat service shows as stopped in the CCM
- When Tomcat crashes this way, the users can be getting "Bad Gateway" message.
- After restarting the tomcat, it runs for a few days and again crashes
- In all these cases, a tomcat dump is generated after the crash (eg: hs_err_pid1234.txt), with the following details:
# A fatal error has been detected by the SAP Java Virtual Machine:
#
# EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x000000000a9b28cf, pid=1436, tid=5044

Parameters like maxmetasize 1+ GB and max heap have already been increased from 4 to 8 or 16g.
- There are no out of memory or heap space or stack overflow errors, nor anything indicative of load like running out of threads.
