3413328 - How to Maintain New Region Code for Morocco?

You observed the region codes for Morocco available in the tenant is outdated. These codes where renamed/consolidated during 2015

Below is an example to find the region codes

1. Go to Customers work center

2. Select Country/Regions

3. Open drop down for State

There is incompatibility between regions codes available in ByD system / C4C system and ISO Standards

Below is the detailed explnantion based on Region Codes as per ISO Standard: https://www.iso.org/obp/ui/#iso:code:3166:MA

1- Earlier the region codes for this country was 1-16  and now it is 1-12

2- Majority of region codes have completely different Region Name

For eg, for region Code : 02 old name was ‘”Gharb-Chrarda-Béni” but now new name is “L’oriental” which is somewhat similar to region name acquired by region code:04.

Since there is conflict of similar description of region , we are not going to provide adjustment to Description as per new ISO standards as this may lead to Inconsistency for existing Business Documents / Users consuming these old codes.

As a workaround, you can region codes based on your requirement.The steps are as follows

1. Go to Business Configuration work center
2. Go to Overview view
3. Search and Open the activity - Regions
4. Select Add Row
5. Select County as Morocco; Enter a Code (Region code excluding 1 - 16) and Region Description (refer to Region Codes as per ISO Standard: https://www.iso.org/obp/ui/#iso:code:3166:MA)
6. Select Save

You can also refer to the KBA (2727372 - Predelivered content for regions is changed (sap.corp) with the list of pre-delivered region codes and changes per release
