3413330 - Datasphere Replication for Archived Data in Source ECC or S/4HANA system

Using DP Agent for real-time replication, it is found that when the data is archived (via SAP standard archiving process SARA) in SAP ECC or S/4HANA system, the data is also dropped in SAP Datasphere since the real-time replication is enabled.

It is queried if there is any approach to avoid archived data being dropped in SAP Datasphere.

From the SDI HANA adapter perspective view, no parameter alone can retain data in the replication table in the target HANA Database. This is a new feature request for SAP Datasphere. The below options may be considered to retain the archived data:

1. Using replication flow instead of a remote table. The setup is slightly different depending on the ABAP source. If it is an S/4HANA source CDS View, please check SAP Note 3290438 - Handling of Archiving Actions in the Change Data Capture Mechanism (/1DH/* Triggers).
2. Using local tables in SAP Datasphere to retain the about-to-be-archived data.
