3413736 - Customer Invoice Form Shows City and Country Name in Uppercase

Symptom

You have noticed that for some invoice documents the City and Country name are showing in Uppercase.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Customer Invoicing work center.
  2. Select the Invoice Documents view.
  3. Search for ID ABC (ABC represents the ID of the Customer Invoice).
  4. Click Preview.

In the template you can see that the Bill To City and Country name shows in uppercase.
Example:
CITY
COUNTRY

Cause

The reason the system is showing the city and country name in uppercase is because the address exceeds 3 (three) lines.

For addresses which does not exceeds 3 (three) lines, system performs the following logic:

  • If the postal address collective data is not surpassing 3 (three) lines, then the system considers it as incomplete data in the postal address, even though there some information maintained in the address. This leads to a recalculation of the formatting for the address, considering only the street address and not the postal address (which includes city & zipcode), and since there is no postal address passed to the routine for uppercase functionality, no uppercase for postal code is happening for address line which does not exceeds 3 (three) lines.

Resolution

This is the expected system behavior.

An alternative option may be to check the SAP Business ByDesign Influence Portal to submit an idea.
