3414278 - HTTP 404 while accessing any SAP Business Objects webapps using tomcat

Symptom

  • When accessing any SAP BusinessObjects webpage the following error is seen:
    HTTP Status 404 – Not Found
    Description The origin server did not find a current representation for the target resource or is not willing to disclose that one exists.
  • Errors in tomcat logs:

    SEVERE: Error deploying web application directory [C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\tomcat\webapps\AdminTools]
    java.lang.IllegalStateException: Error starting child
        at org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.addChildInternal(ContainerBase.java:686)
       
    SEVERE: Error deploying web application directory [C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\tomcat\webapps\BOE]
    java.lang.IllegalStateException: Error starting child
      at org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.addChildInternal(ContainerBase.java:686) 
  • This issue observed after an upgrade of the SAP BusinessObjects and tomcat.
