As a micro-service-based platform, XS advanced allocates TCP ports for network communication. In the event that XS advanced is not able to allocate particular ports, this could result in communication issues, affecting the communication between micro-services or between business users and applications. Another symptom is that XS advanced services are not able to start up. The following error message could be visible in the xscontroller_<n>.log file:
Failed to bind application port (already occupied). Route to application will be unavailable. Restarting the application may solve the issue.
