3414562 - User is not authorized to schedule an Application Job Template or the Template is not visible in the target system

Symptom

  • The creation of a job template follows the same technical rules as a Job Catalog Entry, as described in Creating the Job Catalog Entry After successful creation in the Development system, it is transported to the Test system. However, it is not possible to locate the Job Template in the same manner as in the Development system.
  • When attempting to schedule the template, the user encounters the error "User <User Name> is not authorized", even though all necessary authorizations have been granted. 

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Job Catalog Entry as described in Creating the Job Catalog Entry.
  2. Transport the Job Catalog Entry to a different System.
  3. Search for the Job Catalog Entry.
  4. No information about the Job Catalog Entry is returned.

Cause

In the "Application Jobs" app, only the templates for which start authorization is assigned are visible.

 

Resolution

Follow the instructions in SAP Help to set up the required authorization.
