3415079 - Opportunity Being Copied with Referenced Contract

You have noticed that when creating a copy of an Opportunity with reference to a Contract, system is also copying the reference Contract into the document flow. 

SAP Business ByDesign 

1. Go to the New Business work center.
2. Select the Opportunities view.
3. Search for any document ID ABC (ABC represents the ID of the source Opportunity).
4. Select the document.
5. Click the Copy button.
6. Click Save and Close.
7. Search for document ID XYZ (XYZ represents the ID of the newly created Opportunity).
8. Open the newly created document.
9. Navigate to the Document Flow tab.

Here we can see that the document is linked to the Contract of the source Opportunity.

This is the system expected behavior. 

In order to avoid having reference contracts being retrieved to copied documents, please create new/fresh documents. 

An alternative option may be to check the SAP Business ByDesign Influence Portal to submit an idea. 
Improvement requests need 20 votes of different customers/partners to qualify for review. Reviews will happen on a regular basis, with the results being communicated in a corresponding review blog post.
